POMERANIAN HOSPICE FOUNDATION FOR CHILDREN
Pomeranian Hospice Foundation for Children offers its patients a chance to find peace surrounded by loving people in a place where they feel safe the most - HOME. Due to an insufficient funding from NHS (National Healthcare Fund) the Hospice relied solely on donors and sponsors to survive when they first approached me. I saw it as an opportunity to extend the range of institutions that we were cooperating with, as part of our community investment strategy, and consequently held both fundraising and awareness campaigns building a foundation for a support that we continued in 2017. ![]()
SMALL PERCENTAGE, BIG DEAL
By Polish law, in each tax settlement we can give 1% to one destined organization or the person in need. In an attempt to promote this possibility and encourage employees to participate, I collected a few stories of employees’ relatives and friends who find themselves in need and who are eligible for 1% donation. Reaching out to our friends and relatives were strongly encouraged to further stress the importance of acting locally also in the immediate surrounding that might need our attention. ![]()
WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY
To pay our tribute to the World Humanitarian Day established by the European Commission on 19th August we launched an awareness campaign to honor those who risk their lives serving humanitarian causes. A list of relevant articles was shared including Thomson Reuters press releases together with the promotional materials and posters provided on European Commission official website. ![]()
WORLD DAY AGAINST CHILD LABOUR
There is a clear link between Child Labour, war conflicts and SDG 8: Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all. A continued lack of decent work opportunities, insufficient investments and unstable environments all makes it extra hard for children from conflict areas to lead normal life, the one of dignity, equal chances and happiness. As part of this awareness campaign I provided links to crucial articles and factsheets that would further explain the depth of the problem and the many areas where child safety cannot be guaranteed. ![]()

WORLD TOILET DAY
Together with the fundraising event (Autumn Bake Sale) held in favor of the Hospice Foundation, I launched an awareness campaign to promote the global movement that seeks to attract our attention to sanitation crisis currently faced by more than 1/3 of our population. This initiative has become one of our biggest successes in 2016 not only taken into consideration the amount of money we collected and quantity of hygienic products we were able purchase as a result, but also with regard to the networking opportunity and external recognition that this initiative granted. Our fundraising event has been registered on the official World Toilet Day website and acknowledged by the United Nations. It triggered inter-organizational communication with the United Nations which I built upon and developed in 2017. ![]()
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF CHARITY
One of the objectives I set myself for 2016 was a more transparent appreciation shown to everyone willing to commit their free time, passion and skills to support the causes we were promoting. If it was not for those people, my fundraising and in-kind initiatives would not provide such great results. When you work with such amazing individuals and you see the change just around the corner, you genuinely believe WE can change the world. ![]()
WORLD CANCER DAY - ONE UNITED VOICE
The awareness campaign held on the company's intranet platform was one of the three initiatives organized to celebrate World Cancer Day. Its goal was both raising awareness and education about the disease but also creating a debate platform for everyone to share their views, experiences or ideas such as more efficient workplace inclusion for returning employees. ![]()
