I am hoping to see an article here as soon as the bug is fixed already. Good thing because such thing was discussed when I was still studying economics back in college. Purchasing power depends on each and everyone of us here. Of course, the rich people have bigger purchasing power because they have the resource to do so, that is something that we need to understand. While all of us are entitled to such power, it differs on how bog or small your power is.

    GDP for Poland
    1990-2016

Find out the GDP for your country
    HERE!

    Show me the sky!

The evidence exists that there is a close correlation between GDP estimates and the brightness of a country's night lights...

Simply saying the more lights there are, the higher GDP should be (as people have more money for electricity, stay up working etc). Many political leaders, especially in non-democratic countries are falsifying their estimates which is clear simply by looking at the night sky!
You can read more about it
    HERE.
