This initiative has been dedicated to Children who lost their parent in the Hospice and are currently under its custody. When the Kid loses the most loved ones, its entire world changes. Many orphaned families need not only psychological help but a financial one too. Coming back to school when there are notebooks missing from the backpacks because they simply cannot be afforded can be difficult or even humiliating. We gathered our forces to provide the largest number of Children with everything they need to make their First Day of School easier and brighter.

Every year at this time the Hospice staff has hands full collecting the secret wishes of children from all over Poland. Some of them suffer from terminal diseases, others have lost their loved ones in the Hospice. Once the list is ready, they are busy finding sponsors to make sure no-one is left behind. What they ask for is sometimes shocking... deodorant, shower gel, diapers...among most popular are gift cards for grocery shops that the families can use to buy food supply for all the family members. It is both touching and scary but comforting as well.  Every year the number of people who want to help, contribute in some way or even decide to provide an ongoing help for the Hospice and its little patients in increasing. Among these beautiful individuals are were our volunteers. Thank you!

This event closed the series of 2016 in-kind assistance initiatives held in favor of the Hospice Foundation in Gdansk. This time we were preparing Christmas gifts for Children whose wishes and stories were available to employees via the external link provided by the Hospice. Families desperately needed products and equipment that facilitate care of the little patients and very often also support sustaining life. As most of the materials requested were expensive, employees were encouraged to team up in order to cover everything from the list. 19 employees took part in this initiative collecting over 100 new items requested by the Hospice.

With respect to the World Food Day and Zero Hunger global movements we teamed up to prepare freshly baked cakes to one of 10 Homeless shelters in Tricity as part of our tribute to the cause. I have combined it with World Hunger awareness campaign to highlight the importance of acting locally and making difference by changing everyday habits like responsible shopping, managing food waste etc.

International Children's Day that is celebrated worldwide on 1st July and in Poland on 6th June, is the most important holiday for both staff and children from the Hospice Foundation in Gdansk. Employees were asked to choose a Child from the carefully prepared wish list that included over 400 dreams of both terminally-ill and orphaned children. Presents could be prepared individually or collectively that promoted cooperation and teamwork for the cause. 20 employees took part in this action delivering the presents on time.
